Text Message Reminder Service The surgery is now offering a free text message reminder service. The surgery will send you a free text message to your mobile phone to remind you of your appointment. We will also be able to remind of any reviews that are due and inform you of other services available at the surgery. Forms are available at the surgery for you to update your mobile telephone number details. There is also the option to 'opt-out' of the service if you do not wish to receive any messages. NEW SURGERY WEBSITE> A new re-vamped and restyled Uppingham Surgery Website will be launched on the 1 September 2011. The new site will keep this web address and will enable us to provide more readily useable information and documentation for our Patients. NEW SURGERY PATIENT SOFTWARE SYSTEM> The surgery will be changing to a new software system - SystmOne - on the 30 November and 1 December 2011. More details will follow but regrettably this will cause some unavoidable disruption to the services provided by the Surgery. Firstly, appointments will be restricted for a few days prior to the changeover date to emergencies appointments only. Secondly, we will be dispensing 2 months worth of repeat prescriptions for November and December 2011. Thirdly, we will be asking Patients to change their PIN and passwords in order to make appointments and order Prescriptions online with SystmOne. We will of course keep you posted on this project. Do we have your email address? We are currently updating your patient records with your email address so that we can keep you up to date with the latest surgery news including our bi-monthly newsletter. Please email noreplyc82077@gp-c82077.nhs.uk with your email account or complete an email request slip available at reception.
To allow more flexibility of appointment times to suit patients who work long hours or commute, the Uppingham Surgery provides additional GP sessions between 0800 and 0830 each weekday morning, on monday evenings up until 1930, and between 1800 and 1830 on every tuesday, wednesday and thursday. We emphasise that these appointments are intended for patients who cannot attend normal surgery hours. EMERGENCY DEPT GP REFERRAL SCHEME
TRANSFER OF APPOINTMENTS If your registered Dr is ill or will not be available and you have pre-booked an appointment, we will automatically transfer you to another GP within the practice. In most cases we will offer you the same appointment time or as near as possible and the same venue, to minimise disruption to you. If you express your wish never to see another Dr (please complete form at reception) then please be aware that your appointment will be cancelled and you may have a long wait for another appointment if you refuse to see another GP. PATIENTS LATE FOR APPOINTMENTS If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you may need to rearrange it. If your appointment is urgent, please speak to the receptionist who will advise the dr on your behalf.
