The practice hosts a variety of private therapists for the benefit of patients; we are continuing to increase our range of services and any additional services not mentioned here will be displayed on the notice board at the Uppingham Surgery. Physiotherapy Sigismund Solly, MSc (Phys), BSc (Phys), SRP, MCSP, MMACP, RGN Sigi is an Australian trained Physiotherapist, who worked with Olympic athletes during the Sydney 2000 Olympics in Australia. Sigi acts as a consultative therapist, and he also lecturers at the University of Nottingham.

Osteoporosis Screening Finola Mac Sweeney, DCR, DNM (State Registered Radiographer) Finola carries out DXA bone density scans, which aids early diagnosis of Osteoporosis, a bone disorder that can be described as generalized weakening of the skeleton due to loss of bone and calcium. It affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 12 men, causing them to have a higher incidence of fractures from minor injury, (there are a number of factors that increases an individual’s risk of Osteoporosis) please ask at reception for a leaflet with more information.
Osteopathy
Avin Patel B. Ost Med. Avin is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is also a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society, British Osteopathic Association and Osteopathic Sports Care Association. Following retirement from professional rugby, Avin trained as an osteopath. Avin has a very simple and traditional approach whilst treating his patients 'Find it, Fix it, leave it'.
