Attached Staff
There are members of staff employed by the Primary Care Trust, who provide additional services to our patients, they include :
District Nurses These nurses are based in the Rutland Memorial Hospital at Oakham, and provide general nursing care for the housebound. They can be contacted through the community office on 01572 772 042.
Health Visitor Victoria Hubbard is our health visitor, she is available for child health advice and screening. She holds a baby clinic on Tuesday afternoons 1:30 – 3:30pm at our Uppingham site, and can be contacted by telephone on 01572 772 091. Online appts are available to book at Uppingham. You will need a pin number for each child to access these. Victoria will also see patients at branch surgeries by appointment.
Midwife Linda Lester is our midwife, undertaking antenatal and postnatal care. Appointments may be made for Uppingham on Monday mornings and Gretton branch surgery on Tuesday mornings directly at the surgery reception, by phoning 01572 823 531. Urgent queries can be dealt with by phoning 0116 258 4834.
Practice Therapist Adrian Fenton is available for counselling and therapy for common mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety. Access for this service is by referral from your GP. He is at Uppingham on Wednesday afternoons.
Podiatrist (Chiropody) A podiatry service is available at the Rutland Memorial Hospital. Please ask at reception for an application form. The Therapy Booking Centre at Melton Mowbray will then contact you to arrange an appointment.
Dietician The dieticians service is based at the Leicester General Hospital, and Margaret Bullock a member of their team runs a clinic at Rutland Memorial Hospital. Appointments are by referral from your GP.
Smoking Cessation Counsellor Advice on giving up smoking is available on site at the Uppingham surgery; please contact reception for advice on organising an appointment with Belinda Davies.
Community Mental Health Team This service is available by referral from your GP only. A separate team provides support for the elderly.
Macmillan Nurse Diane Bonken is available for advice and support for those people affected by cancer. She is based at Melton Hospital and can be contacted on 01664 854818
