Dr Viren Mistry

A warm welcome to Dr Mistry

The surgery would like to welcome Dr Viren Mistry to Uppingham Surgery. Dr Mistry will be a partner at the surgery from 8th February 2010.

EXTENDED OPENING HOURS

To allow more flexibility of appointment times to suit patients who work long hours or commute, the Uppingham Surgery now has one GP available for a late surgery on Monday evenings from 6.30pm-8pm and on Saturday mornings from 8:15am-10.30am for prebookable appointments only (not emergencies). If you would like to book one of these appointments please contact the surgery on 01572 823531.

EMERGENCY DEPT GP REFERRAL SCHEME

On 1st September 2008 the above scheme will start. This is a joint initiative between Leics City PCT, Leicestershire County & Rutland PCT and University Hospitals of Leics NHS Trust.

All patients attending the emergency dept at a UHL hospital will be triaged. If they have presented with an inappropirate problem then they will be referred back to their own GP to make an appointment at their surgery.

WALK IN BLOOD CLINICS

We hold daily walk in blood clinics & a routine blood pressure clinic each morning from Monday to Friday in the building behind the surgery. No appointment is necessary but your doctor must have authorised any blood tests.

The clinic times are as follows:

8.30am-9.30am - Fasting blood tests
10am-11.30am - Routine blood tests
11.30am-12.30pm - Routine Blood Pressure Clinic

TRANSFER OF APPOINTMENTS

If your registered Dr is ill or will not be available and you have pre-booked an appointment, we will automatically transfer you to another GP within the practice.

In most cases we will offer you the same appointment time or as near as possible and the same venue, to minimise disruption to you.

If you express your wish never to see another Dr (please complete form at reception) then please be aware that your appointment will be cancelled and you may have a long wait for another appointment if you refuse to see another GP.

PATIENTS LATE FOR APPOINTMENTS

If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you may need to rearrange it. If your appointment is urgent, please speak to the receptionist who will advise the dr on your behalf.

HELP FOR SMOKERS
Smoking Cessation clinics are held every Monday afternoon at the Uppingham surgery with qualified advisor Belinda Davies. Patients may book an appointment at reception.
