You will be told on arrival at the surgery if a trainee is with the Doctor. If you do not want the trainee present please inform the receptionist and GP GP Registrar We are a training practice and usually have a GP Registrar in post. They are fully qualified experienced doctors who have previously worked mainly in hospitals. They are required to work for 12 months in general practice prior to becoming a GP. Current registrars at the Practice are Dr Stephen Gerrard, Dr Matt Titterton, Dr Ifat Hussain, Dr Martin Kavanagh, Dr Azam Bashir and Dr Roopa Venktash. Outside commitments. Several of the GPs hold appointments outside of the practice, this work is important for both the practice and the wider population but it does mean that these doctors have reduced time in the practice. Dr Martin spends a large proportion of time working for Bury PCT in a managerial role; Dr Stokes is responsible for the education of doctors training for general practice locally. Dr Cornmell is involved in Family Planning and Young Person Advisory services in the Bury area. Dr Whitehead spends some time as a diabetic tier II doctor. Dr El-Jouzi is a GP leader in the development of the new GP commissioning consortia for the Bury area. |
