Nurse Practitioners The practice employ two Nurse Practitioners, both are highly skilled nurses with over 20 years nursing experience each. Jeanette Rigby RGN, BA/RCN and Christine Lord RGN, ENB have completed specialist practitioner training and are extended nurse prescribers. They are able to deal with all minor illness and common problems that present in general practice and are able to arrange investigations such as blood tests, ECG, Xrays etc They can refer to physiotherapy, dieticians, tier 2 orthopaedics, ENT and other outpatient departments such as dermatology. If you need to see a GP they can arrange this, and if necessary will often speak to a GP for advice while you are in surgery or arrange to ring you with further advice. Your Practice Nursing Team Susan Partington SRN, SCM, BSc,and Darryl Moloney SRN, SCM, RSCN are our nurses, they are supported by Marion Entwistle, phlebotomist and Sharon Booth, Health Care Support Worker. The nursing team work a variety of part time hours. There is normally a nurse available at all times during the working week to assist you with any concerns you may have. The nurses run daily clinic for:- Well person and blood pressure check. Dietary advice and weight checks. Travel health advice and vaccinations. Women's health - Smears, HRT checks etc. Asthma, diabetic and heart disease clinics. Smoking cessation. Family Planning clinics. Anticoagulant clinics. Young Persons Health Advisory Clinic Midwifes A team of community midwivies cover our health centre. They provide a clinic every Tuesday morining with a GP and will see all antenatal mums. They run a six week parent craft course on Monday evenings from 7 - 9pm. Health Visitors The Health Visitors attached to the Practice offer practical support and advice in a host of diverse situation. In addition they hold child health clinics every two weeks that include development screening, immunisation clinics as well as postnatal education and weaning groups. Staff attached to the Practice District Nurses, School Nurses, Dietician, Chiropodist, Continence Advice, Orthoptist, Speech Therapist. |
