Prescriptions

We offer online repeat prescription ordering please follow the instructions below. Altenatively you can use one of the following methods.

Repeat prescriptions can be requested by telephoning the automated repeat prescription line open 24 hours a day on 01204 888785. Prescriptions ordered before 12 noon using this service will be ready for collection after 4pm on the same day Monday - Friday (excluding bank holidays). Please follow the instuctions carefully.

Repeat prescriptions can also be ordered by using the post box in our entrance area, sending your request by post or faxing your request on 01204 887717. Please make sure you include all relevant information, including full name, address, date of birth and the items you require (Please state drug/s, strength/dosage. Prescriptions received before 11am Monday - Friday (excluding bank holidays), by one of these methods, will be ready for collection after 4pm on the same day.

For online repeat prescription requests you need to enter the details of the items that you are requesting, enter details to identify yourself, and enter your email address if you wish to receive an email confirming the details of your request.

If you need to order more items than there are lines available, simply return to the page and enter the additional items as a new order.

The details of your request will be sent to the surgery by email. The receptionist will prepare your prescription for the doctor to check and sign. You need to allow 1 full working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) and then you can collect the prescription from the surgery after 4pm the following day.

Or you may leave with the receptionist, in advance, a supply of Stamped Addressed Envelopes and select the option below to indicate that you would like the prescription to be posted using one of these envelopes. Please allow time for delays in the post. If you select that option but do not have any SAE's left at reception then the prescription will be left for you to collect in the usual way.

IMPORTANT We can only accept repeat prescription requests for items which have been previously agreed by the doctor to be suitable for repeat prescription ordering, and for which you have not yet used up all your quota of issues before the doctor needs to review your medication. In these circumstances we shall usually be able to meet your request but sometimes even so there may be reasons why we cannot issue a repeat prescription for some or all of the items. The receptionist will explain when you call to collect the prescription.

**Electronic Prescription Service Starting 11th November 2011**. From the above date this service will allow your prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice as soon as it has been issued. For this to happen you need to agree with your preferred pharmacy that they can receive your prescriptions directly.

To sign up, you should go to your pharmacy and complete a nomination form. The pharmacy will switch on the service for you.

If you have already signed up to this service your nominated pharmacy will receive your prescription electronically and from this date you will not have to pick up your paper prescription from us.

This service may not suit all patients, and particularly initially not all pharmacists will be able to offer this. Not all medication can be transmitted electronically as a prescription due to legal restrictions; this particularly applies to controlled drugs and certain strong painkillers as well as some forms of sleeping tablets - these will still need to be collected from the practice.
