Updating Doctor/Nurse Details
The most important thing to remember when editing doctor/nurse details on the Update pages is that if you change either the first name or the last name (or both) of any of your clinical staff, then all appointments on the online booking system for that person will be deleted.
- This is because a person with a different name might actually be a different person and we cannot assume that the appointments should be transferred.
- Please make sure that you have recorded the correct details for your clinical staff before starting to use the appointment system - if necessary update them before going live.
- However you may alter the "displayname" of a doctor/nurse without affecting the appointments, as long as you take care to leave the first name and last name unchanged.
- If you need to amend the name of someone who is already active on the appointments system (e.g. overlooked spelling mistake, change of name) then you can:
- Run down their stock of appointments offered online before making the change.
- Make a note of any outstanding appointments so that you can re-enter them later.
- Make your name changes
- Re-enter the outstanding appointments
Please include all your doctors including assistants and registrars when amending your doctor details. Please also include nurses if you wish their names to appear on the homepage or to take part in the appointment system.
- If you do not want them to take part in the online appointment booking system then you can remove their names from the appointments booking screen - use the Doctor/Nurse Update Page and click the NO button next to their name.
- If you do not want their names to appear in the listing of staff on the menubar, or if you want their listing to be qualified in some way to indicate their status then you can amend the display by using the Staff Names item on the menubar utilities on the Admin page.
