Durnford Medical Centre can only provide NHS General Medical Services to registered NHS patients, registered "temporary residents" or on an "immeadiatly necessary treatment" basis for qualifying people who are resident within the agreed practice area.

It is usual to see a health care professional by appointment only.

Durnford Medical Centre runs a full appointments only service using the "Advanced Access" system, offering face to face and telephone consultations, all of which are booked via reception.
Consultations may be pre-booked in advance for patients who have work or other commitments, but most patients should contact the surgery as early as possible on the day that they wish to be seen.

The doctors' and nurses' surgeries run every morning and afternoon. Please state the reason for the consultation when booking as certain tasks may require more time than a routine booking period or may require specialist equipment or personnel with specific skills(eg a room equiped with a height adjustable examination couch for patients who have restricted mobility or a Doctor who is qualifed to perform certain joint injections), these may only be available on certain days or by prior arraingement.
You may not even need to see a Doctor for certain matters such as the completion of forms/sick notes and you will be advised of this if you inform the receptionist.

Please note a consultation appointment is only for the person in whose name it has been booked.

Please book all consultation appointments either for a face to face or telephone consultation either in person at the recieption desk, or by telephone on

0161 643 5960

between 9am and 2pm, 3pm to 5-30pm weekdays.
You cannot currently book an appointment via the internet, email or fax.

If you have booked an appointment and find that it is no longer neccessary PLEASE cancel the appointment giving as much notice as possible on either 0161 643 5960 or 0161 643 2011 or via our communications server using the following email form.

Please use the free text section to list the doctor or nurse you had the appointment with, day, date and time then use the boxes to identify yourself.

Please do not attempt to use this form to book an appointment

Patients who book a consultation appointment and who then fail to attend without cancelling the appointment and who fail to provide an adequate explanation will be viewed as having irrevocably harmed the "Doctor/Patient Relationship".
