Home visits are performed by the doctors on medical grounds only, using the "Staffordshire Guidelines", ie they are intended for the genuinely bed bound, terminally ill or very elderly. The nature of home visiting is such that under normal circumstances attending Durnford Medical Centre with an emergency/urgent appointment will provide a quicker responce and higher quality of care. Home visit requests MUST be made as early as possible by 'phoning 0161 643 2011.There may be a considerable delay responding to visit requests recieved after 11-30am. Please ensure your home can be easily identified from the road, eg house name/number and safe eg dogs shut away etc. (Dogs often mis-interpret examination as an attack on their owner and therefore MUST be in a separate room) |
