General Account Details Help

General Practice Details

Using the General Configuration page you can update basic practice details such as

  • practice name
  • address
  • phone/fax
  • links to another website that you may have elsewhere
  • name of your Admin contact person
  • etc

Lost Password.

If you have lost your password or Admin Codename, please click the "Lost Password" button on the "alternative" Admin Index page and your password and other account details will be emailed to your registered admin email address. To access the alternative admin page, instead of http://www.gpuk.net/youraccount/admin/ go to http://www.gpuk.net/youraccount/admin2/ (note the use of admin2 in place of admin). These alternative pages, an older version of the admin menu, do not require a password to gain access, instead a password is required when actually using the admin functions.

If your admin email address is non-functional then you will not be able to receive the details.

If you really cannot remember your password and also cannot access your registered email account then email support@gpuk.net and explain the circumstances. We may be prepared to update your password and email address for you but we shall need proof of your identity. Please try to avoid this occurrence by always ensuring that if you change ISP (or for some other reason can no longer use the email account that you registered with us) you also update the email address that you have registered with us.

Change your Password.

If you want to change your Admin Password then enter the new password here (minimum 6 characters). Enter it twice, the same each time. Make a careful note of it, though you should also receive an email at your admin email address confirming the change. Ensure that any of your staff who need to use the administration screens have access to both the new password and also to the Admin Code Name.

Change your Admin Code Name.

Your Admin Code Name can be any word or number that you like (minimum 6 characters). We recommend that you do not choose a real name of one of your partners or staff, or the name of your surgery, as that may be too easy to guess. Choose some other word or name - you will need to enter it each time you want to access the secure admin areas of your website. Make a careful note of it, though you should also receive an email at your admin email address confirming the change. Ensure that any of your staff who need to use the administration screens have access to both the new Admin Code Name and also to the password.
