Services Available

For times of routine surgery with a GP or Nurse please see Surgery Opening Times..

Almost all the services listed below are free of charge to our registered NHS patients. The exceptions are where the NHS makes a charge, such as prescription charges or some travel vacciantions, and where the work is outside our NHS responsibilities e.g. private medical examinations and reports. A comprehensive list can be found here

Below is a list of addtional services available at the surgery and details of how you may acccess them.

Drug Clinic

This is provided by a drugs worker from the Community Drug Team in conjunction with Dr Blockley and Sr Boucher and is available on Monday Afternoon Dr Blockley offers a drop in service for all MDS clients between 12.30 and 2pm on Mondays. or you may self refer to this service by making an appointment at reception. We offer screening and immnunisation for blood borne viruses such as Hep B and Hep C, general health care and contraceptive advice.

Physical Activity & Community Exercise P.A.C.E

This is a project is run by North Manchester PCT which encourages people to increase their levels of activity. it is for anyone over 18 with risk factors towards developing heart disease. The Clinic held on Tuesday afternoon 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

You may be referred by the Doctor or Nurse or you may self refer by contacting 681 0940.

Primary Mental Health Team

This clinic is by referral only and is held Wednesday 1.30pm to 4.30 pm.

Ante Natal Care

This clinic is on Friday morning and by appointment only. You will need to have been seen by the GP prior to being seen by Midwife.

Baby Clinic and Immunisations

Thurday 10.30am to 12.00pm Dr Farnum , Sister Boucher and the Health Visitor are all available. No appointment neccessary. If your child requires routine immunisations and you are unable to attend babay clinic please make an appointment to see Sr Boucher in her routine surgery.

Long Term Illnesses

If you suffer from a long term illness such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease,high blood pressure etc then it is important that you have regular reviews. you should aim to be review every 6-12 months. If you are new to the practice or have not been seen for some time please make an apointment to see Sr Boucher.. You may wish to book a telephone consultation in the first instance.

Smear Tests All women should have smear tests every 3 years from 25 years to 50 years and then every 5 years until 65 years. You will normally be recalled by the Health Authority. If you are think you may due a smear or have any concerns about having then please make an appointment with one of the nurses.

Minor surgery Dr Caplan offers this service. Approximately once a month on Wednesday morning by appointment only.
